IC Intercamp, Intercamp is OK...this is the cheer with which we
ended up this event in the station of prague tube (subway).
However, it was at first sung at the opening ceremony of this
four-day event on Saturday morning. But for us, the members of
the serviceteam, this event began a few days earlier, on
Thursday, 2004/05/27, morning. This was the day when everybody,
except for Kraas, who arrived on Thursday in the evening, set
off for the Bor near the Tachov, where this international event
took place. According to the plan, we were to be cluttered up
with a lot of things to do. No wonder we were a little bit
surprised finding out that our activity, prusik´s knot, was
already built and that we had no work to do. The chief of the
Ticket Activities, Káča, nicely acquitted herself and for the rest of
the day we regreted that we did not hide anywhere, because there
was really a lot to be done. On the Saturday morning, after
already mentioned "opening ceremony", each international team
(with approximately 12 members + their leader) set forth the
prepared activities. The only thing I can add, is just to say
that this was quite a teaser. When passing over in silence the
language barrier, I am thinking of the sun, from which there was
nowhere to hide. On the other hand the expressions of the
children´s faces when they finally learned how to make crinoline
(with lasso) or when they climbed up the rope using the prusik´s
knot (to the height of 5 metres), was satisfactory enough. This
was the way in which the Saturday and Sunday passed over, of
course with evening programmes e. g. the concert on Saturday
evening, which was superb, Celtic dances and chivalry fights.
And suddenly came the time to tear down all the things that we
built and to bring the place we stayed in to the conditions in
which it was when we arrived. This demolition was begun with the
climbing wall on Sunday evening and the works went on on the
whole of Monday. When it seemed as there was nothing else to do,
there came the time for the promised barbecue. I do not know how
the others, but I was really looking forward for it, and that is
why I was so "unhappy" when, after an hour of the rest, we were
forced to work again. The planned time of leaving was changed
from 8 p.m. to 8:45 p.m., nevertheless the journey was pleasant
and it passed quite quickly, which was probably caused by the
sleep that defeated most of us. After the arrival to Prague, we
just said goodbye and went to the station of the tube. This takes
us back to the beginning of this recursive article. At the very
end of this article I´d like to say, except for that I liked
Intercamp very much and that even more I miss all the people,
just this:
